Casamance, partner of LaM, the Museum of Modern Art in Lille, France

For his original exhibition at LaM, the artist Jessy Razafimandimby selected Casamance wallpapers to dress his immersive space. Between matte linen and raw earth, SHINOK, SIERRA, and ARGILE engage in dialogue with his paintings and carefully sourced objects.

Born in Madagascar in 1995 and now based between Geneva and Marseille, Jessy Razafimandimby is one of the emerging voices of Contemporary Art. Trained at the Haute École d'Art et de Design de Genève (HEAD), he develops a multifaceted practice-painting, drawing, and sculpture-which he orchestrates into large immersive installations created through the assembly of found objects. His work is not merely observed; it is inhabited. It invites wandering, projection, and emotion.

It is within this spirit that his new exhibition takes shape, conceived especially for the LaM as part of the raw program. From June 13, 2026 to January 10, 2027, the artist explores the concept of home in all its complexity-not as a simple domestic setting, but as a space imbued with memory. Human and animal figures coexist on his canvases, joined by chimerical creatures that embody Razafimandimby’s utopian and dystopian projections. This original exhibition is composed of furniture, textile fragments, and decorative objects sourced from the Grande Braderie de Lille, France. Balancing softness and strangeness, the artist creates an interior shaped by imagination, where every detail invites a new interpretation.

To compose this sensitive universe, Casamance is honored to contribute as a patron to the scenography with its wallpapers-pieces that go beyond decoration to fully participate in the narrative of the space. The SHINOK wallpaper, with its linen-like sheen and carbon and mahogany tones, brings a matte, organic depth that anchors the artworks in an intimate, earthy atmosphere. Alongside it, ARGILE, inspired by raw earth with a natural, tactile grain, unfolds in a refined palette of carefully selected shades: khaki, taupe, camel, and storm blue. Finally, SIERRA evokes the weaving of plant fibers through a delicately textured surface and a natural finish reminiscent of raffia. Together, these tones and textures engage in dialogue with Razafimandimby’s works, extending onto the walls the palette of nature and material that he brings into his exhibition.

Casamance warmly thanks Jessy Razafimandimby and the entire LaM team for their trust.
