Casamance unveils a new artistic collaboration, as refined as it is unexpected, with French decorative painter Elsa Jeandedieu.
Raised in the South of France, Elsa Jeandedieu studied Decorative Arts before refining her technical expertise at Atelier Lucien Tourtoulou in Paris. She later settled in Hong Kong, where she has lived for nearly eighteen years. It is from this dual influence her Provençal childhood and her life in Asia that a singular, deeply sensory artistic universe has emerged. She explores it through murals, creating frescoes with unique textures using her signature “Oscillation” technique.
This collaboration brings together the artist’s contemporary vision and Casamance’s exceptional expertise. “Murmures du Mistral” and “Danse des Sampans”, the two wallcoverings born from this collaboration, tell the story of a journey between West and East. Elsa’s French roots and her experience of life in Asia invite discovery and escape through a harmonious and distinctive blend of influences.
Lime plaster, natural pigments, and copper or gold leaf: the artist explores each material with meticulous attention to detail. She plays with oscillating movements and undulating lines inspired by the “tweed” pattern, accentuating them in places with one of her own signature finishes. Both precise and poetic, these gestures create rhythm and bring the designs to life.
“Murmures du Mistral” takes us to the South of France. Elsa Jeandedieu explores beige, ochre and terracotta pigments, enhanced with touches of royal blue and gold, to capture the textures and colours of sun-drenched Mediterranean landscapes. Carefully applied genuine gold leaf catches the light, lending the composition a warm, precious glow reminiscent of the golden hours of Provence. Drawing on its expertise and craftsmanship, Casamance reproduces the artist’s work on a large scale while preserving the delicacy of its textures. Created using a 3D embossing technique and enhanced with hand-applied gold-leaf metallisation, the panoramic wallcovering is available in two versions and can be repeated infinitely.
“Danse des Sampans” celebrates Asia and Elsa’s fascination with these traditional sailing boats, drifting with the currents. The artist expresses her passion for texture and colour through oscillating movements. Her work is interpreted as a panoramic wallcovering using the same 3D embossing technique, applied to the chenille-woven textile of “Firminy”. The colour palette marron glacé, dune, burnt orange and steel is inspired by the ancestral dyeing techniques traditionally used for Chinese sails. Made in Italy, it is available in four versions and can be repeated infinitely.
Previewed in Milan during Design Week in April 2026, the collaboration has been available since September 2026.
