Les Moires

Two companies have come together to create this exclusive fabric, one has specialised in silks since 1929 and the other has been creating moire fabrics since 1870, both are in Lyon, an important site in the history of French textiles. Moire is made using an artisanal mechanical process, to obtain the contrasting shiny and matte finishes by crushing certain parts of the fabric. The “moirage” requires a series of gestures and precise technical movements to lift and illuminate a simple fabric, transforming it into a shimmering and sophisticated product.
