Saint Louis

Saint Louis fabric is a jacquard on a satin base crossed by lurex threads which lend it an elegant textured effect with a inimitable sheen and breadth. Its pattern represents a bursting of exalted fleur de lys, ‘the flower of St Louis’. The island of St Louis owes its name to King Louis IX, whose fleur de lys graced many a coat of arms. Also called the ‘island of palaces’ due to the presence of many townhouses, this island right in the heart of Paris was home to Charles Baudelaire, Camille Clauden and many other famous people.
